Targeted at applications in which a 24V or 48V input bus is needed
1st July 2014 – Powerstax, specialist provider of highly optimized power sources, has further expanded its broad range of advanced DC-DC supplies with the introduction of a new product in a compact 1/8th brick format size. Based on innovative proprietary technology, its E0131 offering has a 6.53W/cm3 power density and delivers up to 92% conversion efficiency levels (depending on operating conditions). These units come with a choice of either 18VDC to 36VDC or 36VDC to 75VDC inputs, with a single output where 12VDC, 5VDC, 3.3VDC, 2.5VDC, 1.8VDC and 1.5VDC options are available. The output capability that can be derived reaches 130W/50A.
A multi-layer single side PCB design along with metal-plate construction facilitates heat dissipation and ensures reliability (with an MTBF figure of 4.8Mhrs). Protection mechanisms incorporated include input under-voltage lock-out, output short circuit, over-current, over-voltage and over-temperature. The extremely efficient synchronous rectification stage, working in combination with the patented ‘Buck Reset’ topology, minimizes power losses so that the highest degree of operational performance is benefitted from. The DC-DC converters that make up the Powerstax E0131 series are aimed at power system implementation in industrial, telecommunication and data communication applications. The fully potted six-sided metal packages in which they are housed allows them to deal with even the most severe of environmental conditions (an operating temperature range of -40°C ~ +110°C on base-plate or case being supported).
